One of the best things about being an author is that I get to actually hang out with authors who I idolize. Elizabeth Boyle is one such animal. Her signature lightning fast wit in person and in her fabulous books is almost as fast as her flashing knitting needles. She is a master knitter and each time I see her creations, I am in awe. I am honored to be on her weekly “Five Things You Didn’t Know About (insert author name here)” blog today!

Want some great recipe ideas for Valentine’s Day? A group of food-loving Avon authors have formed a ring of recipes!

Valentine’s Day? Well, normally I’d post a dessert, of course. But this recipe for Gingered Tomato Soup is my son’s favorite and it’s RED…hope you enjoy it!

Sophia’s Gingered Tomato Soup

Caramelize/saute 1 large diced red onion in a large soup pot.

Add: I TBSP of brown sugar, I TBSP on fresh grated ginger, 4 cups of chopped tomatoes, 5 cups of chicken stock. Simmer and reduce by 10%. Add one cup of fresh basil leaves and simmer 5 more minutes. Pour small batches of soup pot contents into a blender and puree. Return to soup pot and serve.

I usually serve with garlic bread–unless there is kissing to be done!

Very happy to report that the first two manuscripts for the new series are complete! I’ll post more information about BETWEEN THE DUKE AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA and THE ART OF DUKE HUNTING late this fall…They are scheduled for release on February 28 and March 27, 2011.
