Time for the annual Avon Holiday Recipe Ring

Each year a large group of Avon authors get together to shae their best holiday recipes. This year I’m offering up my family’s favorite dessert: Chocolate Bread Pudding. Ingredients:4 eggs, 2 cups of cream, 1 1/2 cup milk, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 Tablespoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, butter,1 loaf of Kings Hawaiian bread or brioche (egg) bread), bag of milk chocolate chips

Whisk together very well: 4 eggs, 2 cups of cream, 1 1/2 cup milk, 1/3 cup of sugar, 1 Tablespoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Butter a 2 quart covered casserole dish (or foil if you don’t have a cover). Layer bottom of casserole with part of bread. Put layer of chocolate chips sprinkled. Alternate layers of chocolate chips and bread until all are used. Carefully pour creamy egg wet ingredients over all of the casserole. put lid on top or foil. Place casserole in an inch of water in a larger pan (very important) in the oven to create steam. Cook covered at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake another 45 minutes at 300 degrees. Let cool a little. You can eat this hot or cold. I especially like it thinly sliced cold the morning after…when you have time to curl up with a great book.

Release day & a new starred review!

Release day usually means jittery excitement for most writers. Many of us do booksignings or spend the day blogging about the new release. But the icing on the cake? A nice review. The cherry on top of the icing? A great starred review. Booklist recently joined Library Journal in awarding this honor.

*Secrets of a Scandalous Bride. “Expertly spiced with deliciously subtle sense of wit, deftly seasoned with a superbly nuanced cast of characters, and featuring a plot brimming with lusciously sensual romance and a dash of dangerous intrigue, Secrets of a Scandalous Bride, is Nash’s best book yet.” — John Charles for Booklist

**Starred review** Library Journal

Lovely reviews are pouring in for Secrets of a Scandalous Bride, which will be released on Feb. 23. Here’s the latest from Library Journal: **Starred Review** After successfully evading for two years the suit of a highly ranked military officer who threatens to ruin her late father’s reputation, Elizabeth Ashburton eventually encounters her nemesis and, finally has the courage and the unexpected assistance of notorious villain Rowland Manning to face up to the threat. VERDICT: Graced with empathetic characters, emotional intricacy, and unexpected plot twists, this final book in the “Widows Club” series ties up a variety of loose ends and is a perfectly delicious series finale.
